NETPod: Modenine Returns With New Single ‘I’m Back’

Modenine is without a doubt the most respected hip-hop act in Nigeria. With about seven mixtapes and four albums, who can stand toe-to-toe with the punchline king? Your guess is as good as mine – Nobody.
Modey who recently returned to the country in anticipation of the release of his fifth studio Lp ‘Commercial Break‘ has dropped the official single coincidentally titled ‘I’m Back‘. Fans and followers of the hip-hop icon will pleased to know that their ‘King’ has returned.
‘I’m back‘ surprisingly is an up-beat tune but Modey holds the track by the neck as he rides along the beat comfortably. He rhymes about his return and what he intends to accomplish. With lines like ‘The mice all play when the cat is out/I own this building, back out!, you know Nigel Benn is not joking.
Modenine might not be at his best on this Bayorz Music-laced-beat as the production isn’t reminiscent of the rapper’s customary style but vanish any thoughts of under performance as we all know the ‘nine’ is here to stay.
